Gerald J. Maze Jr. is the Executive Chair and Co-Founder of Maze Freight Solutions, a veteran-owned logistics firm specializing in heavy haul, oversized, and mission-critical freight operations across the United States. With over a decade of experience in the freight and transportation industry, Gerald has built a reputation for precision execution, operational discipline, and the ability to move complex, high-value cargo under demanding conditions.

A United States Army veteran and experienced operator of heavy equipment and specialized vehicles, Gerald brings a tactical, boots-on-the-ground approach to logistics-ensuring every load is measured, planned, and executed with military-grade accuracy. His leadership reflects a deep understanding of both commercial and government logistics environments, including time-sensitive, secure, and high-compliance transport operations.

Since co-founding Maze Freight Solutions, Gerald has helped scale the company into a trusted partner for industries such as construction, energy, infrastructure, and government services—moving freight exceeding 100,000+ pounds with reliability and accountability.

Gerald is focused on expanding Maze Freight Solutions’ footprint within federal and defense sectors, supporting national logistics readiness, emergency response, and infrastructure mobilization. His mission is to bridge the gap between private-sector efficiency and government operational excellence.

He has pursued higher education at Grambling State University, Columbia College Chicago, and University of Missouri–Kansas City, further strengthening his foundation in leadership, business, and communications.

Jy’Juan Maze (better known as Jy) is the President of Maze Freight Solutions. She has been in transportation and supply chain management for over 10 years. Her sales success with large and small companies, along with the lack of diversity in the industry, led to the founding of Maze Freight Solutions in 2017. The company, which emphasizes integrity, quality, and superior customer service, has experienced phenomenal growth since its inception.

Prior to founding Maze Freight Solutions, Jy worked as a Freight Broker for Freightquote.com, an award-winning software-based freight solutions company. For half of her almost decade long career there, she led the sales team and still holds the record for highest full truckload freight sales. Her resiliency and keen ability to connect with, and solve the problems of her customers continues to contribute to her success.

Jy earned her B.A. in Business from National American University. She is also a current member of Heartland Black Chamber of Commerce and a volunteer for The Women’s Business Center (WBC). Recognizing the need to always give back, she is a mentor to future entrepreneurs and also supports a host of charities.

Nicholas E. Ruffin is one of the Managing Partners of Maze Freight Solutions. Nicholas’ experience in building out digital nervous systems for companies has helped business grow with processes, procedures, and efficiencies. With close to 2 decades of experience in sales management and corporate training, Nicholas has also built & administered training curriculums, LMS programs, and customized platforms for logistics, marketing, and merchant services industries. His knowledge in sales is attributed to his experience in telemarketing, direct mail, email, internet and face to face B2B solution.

Nicholas’ classroom experience has been recorded to mirror a motivational seminar that not only gives attendees the fundamentals needed for sales but also fundamentals to change their philosophy for day to day practices outside of work.

As VP of Operations, Nicholas has already been instrumental in reorganizing the structure in our operations and providing a sound foundation for our recruiting and training department.

Deidra Craig is the VP of Human Resources & Acquisitions for Maze Freight Solutions. Deidra’s 20+ years of experience in sales and service along with an extensive background in training and development affords her a vast knowledge of many different aspects of the business.

Maze Freight Solutions was built on determination and drive while fostering an environment of giving, so maintaining that environment and culture is a key role for Deidra.

Deidra develops and implements human resource practices and programs to drive service excellence and deliver on the company’s key business initiatives. Her belief that a positive company culture produces positive, long-lasting results is the main driving force in her day-to-day operations.
